July 4th may be on a Wednesday this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still throw a kick-ass party to celebrate. The fact that the holiday is in the middle of the week makes it a little more difficult to prepare for (hello, work!), but we chatted with entertainment expert Mark Addison to get some ideas on how to host a fun party on a time crunch. Check out his tips below:

  1. Decorations – Mark’s staple decoration at a summer party? A white tablecloth. “You can easily build a theme by just adding colors, like red, white and blue for the 4th of July- there is no end to your creativity!”
  2. Food- The key to the party food is to prepare it in advance, says Mark. An easy recipe that will wow your guests is his deconstructed picnic sandwiches. “Take all of the goodness in between the bread of classics like the BLT, the chicken club, or curried salad and turn them into spreads that are easily made in advance and kept in the fridge until ready to serve,” said Mark. “Simply serve with toast cut into festive shapes for a great sandwich spread and say goodbye to soggy sandwiches forever!”
  3. Drinks- You can serve frozen cocktails without the preparation. Mark loves Parrot Bay Frozen Pouches (which he is currently the spokesperson for.)  “They make the ideal party drink because there is zero preparation and little to no cleanup required,” he said. “They come in three fantastic flavors, including strawberry daiquiri, exotic mango daiquiri, and the ever classic piña colada. You simply freeze them overnight, squeeze into a glass, and serve!” (PS- we love these too, especially since they are only $1.99 for a 10 oz pouch!)
